Welcome to
Vienna Townhouse
Bach Leipzig
If you were to express the music of Johannes Sebastian Bach in a feeling, then perhaps it would be the wonderful sense of reassurance you get when you listen to his works. But you don’t have to be a fan of the baroque composer to feel at home at the Vienna Townhouse Bach in Leipzig. The renaissance-era building, which is part of the boutique hotel, is in the city centre and is the oldest townhouse in Leipzig. The new rear building looks out onto the garden. Here you can find the rooms and apartments – the cosy restaurant with a summer terrace is in the historical building part, across from Thomaskirche and Bach statue.

EXPLORE LEIPZIG
Leipzig combines the best from the past and the hippest from today. From nostalgic coffeehouse culture to cool bars, cultural highlights or a classical concert, Leipzig has something for every taste. And speaking of taste, visitors to the city have got to try the famous \"Leipziger Allerlei\", a delicious plate of young peas, carrots, asparagus and morels – ideally served with freshwater lobster.
Where to?
Thinking of exploring Leipzig on foot, heading out into nature by bike or taking the next train into the surrounding area? With or without a car, the city and the region are easy to explore. Just step in front of the door and off you go.
Music fills the air
Directly in front of the Vienna Townhouse Leipzig, there he stands quite sublime, with the world-famous St. Thomas Church in the back: Johann Sebastian Bach – to this day one of the most influential and well-known composers and musicians of all times. Every Friday and Saturday you can listen to the St. Thomas Boys Choir singing motets. Particularly impressive are the seasonal performances of the great oratorios together with one of Germany’s most accomplished orchestras the Gewandhaus Orchester.
Getting there
By car
From Berlin follow the A9, change to the A14, take exit at Leipzig Mitte, then follow the B2 toward Leipzig Zentrum.
From Munich take the A9 to the A38, exit at Leipzig Süd, then follow the B2 toward Leipzig Zentrum.
From Magdeburg follow the A14, take exit at Leipzig Mitte, then follow the B2 toward Leipzig Zentrum
From Dresden take the A14, exit at Leipzig-Nordost, then follow the B87 toward Leipzig Zentrum.
Parking
Unfortunately, the hotel does not have its own parking and there is no stopping in front of the historic building. Two loading/unloading zones can be found directly behind the hotel at Burgstraße 4. We recommend parking in the Marktgalerie public car park at Thomasgasse 2, just 3 minutes on foot from the hotel.
